USDA recalls 1 million pounds of beef

by Administrator 9. August 2010 05:28

Valley Meat Company, a California-based company, has announced a recall of one million pounds of ground beef because of possible E.Coli contamination.

Consumers who have purchased this meat and grocery stores may still have this in their freezers. The products that are included in the recall are the frozen meat patties with a processed date of October 2, 2009 to January 12, 2010.

Illnesses have been reported from these products since February 2010, but the connection between the product and the illness was just made by the USDA. Seven people have become ill after eating the product. These recalled products have been distributed in Texas, California, Arizona, Oregon and other grocery stores across the nation in a different brand.
