Tips for Driving in a Dust Storm

by Administrator 2. November 2009 07:28

Following a recent dust storm, the Arizona AAA has offeredmotorists some safety tips on for driving in strong winds and blowing dust.

One of the most important things a driver can do is to slowdown. By reducing your speed you will increase your vehicle control. This isespecially important when traveling from a protected area to an unprotectedarea. Drivers should allow themselves extra time to get to their destinationduring bouts of heavy wind or dust.

Driving with your headlights on is also a great idea. Thisensures that you can see other motorists and other motorists can see you. If,however, you cannot drive or see safely you need to pull your vehicle off theroadway completely and stop with your lights off. This will prevent otherdrivers from following your taillights, thinking you are still on the road.

These tips can help you avoid a dangerous accident indangerous road conditions.
