A man was killed on Sunday after attempting to base jump off a cliff near Phoenix.  The accident occurred after the man's parachute failed to open after the jump. The man fell from a height over 100 yards.

The man was base jumping near Salt River and Saguaro Lake when the accident occurred.   The man was airlifted by helicopter from the scene of the accident and was taken to a nearby hospital.  Unfortunately,  the man died an hour later from his injuries.  The man's name has not yet been released,  however it is known that he is between the age of 25-35 years old.
