Dust Storm Causes Accident on I-10

Blowing dust has been blamed for an accident on Interstate10 near Picacho Peak.

Department of Public Safety officers and Arizona Departmentof transportation personnel said that a dust storm was a factor in a crash thatoccurred around 12:30 p.m. at milepost 214. Three vehicles were involved, twoof which were commercial trucks.

Both eastbound lanes of the interstate were blocked afterthe crash. Officials say the blowing dust problem began around milepost 175through 218 and was heaviest around 175 to 200 where there was a substantialamount of loose dirt.
