Man arrested after Phoenix head-on collision

The driver invovled in a head-on collision was arrested shortly after being treated at the hospital.

The accident occurred as the man drove off the left side of the road and then struck another vehicle head-on. Police have said that the driver smelled of alcohol and the drivers of both vehicles were transported to the hospital.

After the driver was treated, police began to put him in a patrol car when he kicked out the back window. He was charged with driving with a suspended license, driving under the influence, possession of marijuana and malicious injury of property.

Phoenix ranks number 4 in country for having the most drunk drivers

A study done by Insurance.com shows that the  Phoenix ranks number 4 in the nation for having the most drunk drivers.

The study takes into account the number of drunk drivers and the enforcement of DUI laws. Officials from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety have said that the city's tough laws on drunken driving is why they are ranked so highly. Officials have also said that the number of DUI-related fatalities has gone down.  Pheonix comes behind San Jose, San Diego and Charlotte, North Carolina.

Investigators suspect alcohol a factor in fatal wreck

Police officials are investigating a fatal two-car accident and have reason to believe that alcohol may have been a reason for the collision.

A 70-year-old man was driving a pickup truck north on I-15 when he veered off and struck the concrete barrier in the middle of the roadway. After hitting this, he bounced off the wall and his vehicle flipped several times before being struck by semi-truck.

Investigators believe that the man was either suffering from a medical condition or was impaired by alcohol when the accident. Police officials are currently investigating the details of the crash.
